How might the Bears exploit Josh Allen and the Bills? Ending a playoff drought takes time
, effort, and a considerable amount of luck. Itís physically taxing, and beyond emotionally overbearing. But when it finally reaches itís merciful end, itís the greatest feeling and reward of all. Before last January, that was the experience and thought process for the Buffalo Bills. An organization mired in perpetual mediocrity for most of the 21st century finally broke though with a playoff berth for the first time since 1999. An event forever crystallized in time in western New York. Now, the Bills are preparing to take one step back by having patience in developing a rookie quarterback in Josh Allen, to make the future as consistently special as that distinct playoff moment. To break down what to expect from Buffalo in the 2018 NFL season, Erik Turner of Cover 1 and The Athletic Buffalo joined me on the latest WCG Radio. We discussed when Allen could eventually thrive
, how the Bills need to keep improving on paper, where the Bears and Mitchell Trubisky have an advantage over them (mostly everywhere), and looked forward to a highly anticipated Labor Day.iTunes (Subscribe, rate five stars, and review!)Itís as easy as 1, 2, 3. Today at 12 p.m. CT
, the Chicago Bears will be forming their 10-man practice squad one day after cutting down their roster to 53 players on Saturday. Players like Ryan Nall, Tanner Gentry, Michael Joseph and Cavon Walker were among the notable names who were waived in yesterdayís cut downs. The good news for a handful of the players around the league that were cut, though, is that they are eligible to be added to their teamís practice squad. Thereís also a chance that they may be claimed off of waivers and immediately added to another teamís 53-man roster. The Bears currently sit eighth on the waiver order, so they will have the chance to get some solid players if they choose claim anyone off of waivers. To catch up on all the rules pertaining to the practice squad, hereís a handy cheat sheet for you. This live tracker will be used to keep track of both any practice squad signings or waiver claims that the Bears make. Be sure to check in constantly for the latest news.Linebacker Josh Woods is expected to make the practice squad.
